Bourbon Beginnings

My bourbon beginnings may sound similar to many of your friends and family, COVID-19 shelter at home! So much on your mind, but so little you can do about it. The government pumping so much extra money in your pockets, but no way to spend it. Searching for a way to relax, connect and enjoy. Like many others, I found a connection with those in proximity. Lucky to live in a building with a small but unmanaged and underutilized pool. Looking for ways to spend time outside with the family, lounging by a body of water felt good. Then my peaceful state of mind was disrupted by movement. Who are they? Meet my neighbors and the beginnings of my bourbon journey.

Bourbon Connections

The connection felt nice and comforting. Starting with my go-to alcohol, beer, then came some mix of fruits and vodka. Wow, these Moscow mules were delicious and so tropical. It felt like a getaway. Why not try this Japanese whiskey and some ginger beer? That’s pretty good and we loved the kick! Wait, this brown water tastes pretty good by itself. That started my bourbon beginnings.

Stimulus Spending

Money to burn, time to spare, and whiskey to share with friends. We just couldn’t get the taste out of our minds. So tasty, so natural, so many layers of flavors all coming from something that sat in a barrel for years. How can this be? There must be so much more out there to experience. Then came the race to find new bottles to try and share.

Bourbon Journey

If this story sounds familiar, then join me and my journey with embracing bourbon. As I meet others whether a random stranger on the seat next to me at a bar or introduced by a friend, so many started their bourbon beginnings in a similar fashion. Welcome to one of the greatest passions of life. Welcome to your bourbon beginnings and your bourbon embrace.
